The City and Bondi
Monday I ventured out into the huge, wonderful city of Sydney. Not on my own of course. I met up with Miles, a guy from my scuba course up in Cairns. We wandered round Sydney together, though it wasn't as romantic as it sounds, though it was close....
We took a stroll to Circular Quay, where the Opera House is and where the Princess Pacific (or Pacific Princess) was into port. It was HUGE! Really hit me (though didn't really hit me) just the scale of the size of the Concordia that managed to capsize off the coast of Italy. That captain was a pillock wasnt he? I mean did anyone watch the documentary about it? Where the boat was at 45' and he still refused to call for help and admit the emergency? Who'd drive (or sail) a boat that size that close to an island? Then carry on sailing into the sea without checking what that huge bump was from! But that's beside the point of this blog....
The Opera House itself was stunning, I never realised just how much detail their has gone into the roofing, with all 10 sails (I went to Pub quiz last night ) being covered in different tiles the same size as you'd get in B&Q! And with a backdrop of the Harbour bridge one side and the neighbouring suburbs and water the other, it looked magnificent on a beautifully overcast day in Sydney.
We then took a wander into the Royal Botanical Gardens which to be fair were beautiful. (and full of huge bats!) the thing I loved most about the Gardens was that all you could see in almost every direction was trees and flowers and open space...with skyscrapers and high rise buildings poking out at the back. It was kinda surreal, like a movie backdrop, as used in many great films such as Mary Poppins, BedKnobs and Broomsticks or Indiana Jones.
When we finished in the Gardens we walked back towards the Station as Miles was heading South, but being proper WestCountry boys we stopped off on the way (after passing te pathetic Occupy Sydney, which made Occupy Bristol look like the Nuremberg Rally) in a traditional Irish Pub. Now, in all the pubs in Oz, you can bet, in pretty much anything. As I was waiting for my Guinness (which was cheaper than in Dublin) I noticed that in the next race was a horse called 'Lucy's Rocket'. This set off a little lightbulb in my head, and using all the knowledge and wisdom my Dad has passed onto me about the world of betting, decided to bet on it as, just as I had been taught to varying success, the name was to do with someone very Close to me, completely ignoring the fact the horse had the worst odds.
Well I say horse, it turned out to be horse and cart. And it was actually the most pointless race, as much like Monaco you couldn't actually pass anyone cos the course was too small! Luckily being horse(and cart) number 1, Lucy won. And so did I. $10 (I was never a bold betting man).
Monday night consisted of playing Table Tennis/Ping Pong/Wiff Waff/Plick Plock (if Boris can make up names so can I) with Nicky in her garage. That's about it.
Tuesday with the sun promising to be out until at least 1pm, Nicky and I headed out to the famous Bondi Beach. Now, can anyone tell me why Bondi Beach is so famous? Cos there is no obvious reason I can think of after visiting. It's just like any beach in Devon or Cornwall, but with more people, less surf and warmer sun and sea. Really nothing special. Don't get me wrong it's a nice beach, just didn't get the sense of why it was so famous. The only thing I know it's famous for is Bondi Rescue. Which brings me neatly onto me being interviewed for Bondi Rescue.
Me and Nicky saw the camera crew arrive and wondered if it was actually Bondi Rescue being filmed. We then proceeded to see the lifeguard take down the dangerous currents sign, stick something on, then put it back up. As any good lifeguard will tell you, he then followed procedure by promptly walking up to the nearest hot girls and chatted them up. All of this being filmed.
The girls then in turn (and as it turned out, prompted) walked up to the sign and back, and then received $20. Being nosey, I wandered to the sign to see 'The first 5 people to read this and go up to the lifeguard receives $20'.
I thought great, easy money! So, after being Goaded (I think that's right, mum?) into it by Nicky, I went up to the lifeguard. As it turns out, it was Bondi Rescue, and the sticker was a 'bit' as we say in the industry, to attract people's attention to the sign. I was then rewarded for my nosiness (and part greediness) with $20 and a short interview, about why I was there, what had happened, blah blah, that's not overly important. The director took my name and email address, so hopefully will be told if/when it makes it onto tv!
Tuesday night me and Nicky went out for a meal and Trivia (which the Aussies call a pub quiz - what is it with our descendants and ruining our perfect language...) with her Boss and husband, who actually hails from Wimbledon. The meal was nice, going for a Thai in literally someone's kitchen opened onto the high street. As the law when going for a Thai with the boys, I smashed out a Green Curry, which was really good.
We then proceeded to the Excelsior pub, which I can only describe as what the Barrel will be in a few years time. It
Was a complete dive, falling apart. Julian Clary's Australian lover was our quiz master for the evening, though unfortunately Julian's level of humour was by passed on...though his penchant (look at me using all these big words, mum will be proud) for smut was...which crossed with his bad humour actually made home quite funny.
Anyway, the quiz was actually quite hard, and out of 6 rounds, I didn't actually know many questions, the only answers that I really contributed to included what 3 teams play in Engalnd in Claret and Blue, and what is Automatic, Systematic, Hydromatic (all together now....)
Needless to say, we didn't win, but thanks to a storming last 2 rounds we avoided last place! Now I can see what Derek McInnes tactics are aiming for....
(that's one for Grandad, Dad, Trevor and Kieron, if he's reading this)
Not really sure What else to do in Sydney, apparently I've pretty much exhausted it...off to Thailand on Thursday though! Woop! And only 4 more days til I see Lucy :) I'm sorry if you think that's lame (which It is) but I can't wait!

Zombie's and Cricket (And a confession)
Right, first the confession....
How many people read that I had a tattoo? Who actually saw it and believed it? Show of Hands...
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on if you're family) I DO NOT have a tattoo. Basically, I didn't know how many people were actually reading this, so just wanted to see who would actually see that and hoping for a response so I knew who was reading my blog.
The response was....underwhelming. My I heard back from 4 people about it - Mum, Dad, Mike and Jane. Even Jo who commented didn't even say mention it, to excited about the thought I met someone from Maidstone....
Anyways, Onto Sydney. When I eventually arrived, I was met at the bus stop by Nicky. I went to school with Nicky, and so thought it would be a good enough excuse to see if I could stay with her. It would be great to see and catch up with Nicky, we got on well at BGS and kinda lost touch a little after school, as you do with people. Also, here backpacker rates are much better than most of Sydney's.....
After dumping my bags and taking a quick wander round the 'Camden Road of Sydney' (according to Tour Guide Nicky) I met Daniel, Michael and Kelvin, friends of Nickys with whom we were going to go to a Zombie March! Not bad for your first day.
The pictures are awesome, Look on my Facebook. We were seriously underdressed compared to the effort the other people went to. We were supposed to meet at 3.30 and march from Hyde Park to...another park (I forgot the name, sorry, bit tired, you'll see why if you read on). However, we arrived at 3.55, so had to run through the streets of Sydney to catch up, which was basically at the end of the March, a distance from maybe Top of Park Street to Broadmead? It seemed miles in hot weather, dressed as a Zombie with people staring. Cos Hundreds of Zombies marching together isn't that weird, but 5 zombies sprinting is a little odd.
After the March we walked home from Central Sydney, which took about an hour, maybe less, but gave Nicky the Chance to show me round Sydney, including the University which has been modelled on Oxford. The uni is quite stunning, especially on approach. A mix of stunning old and fantastic new buildings (and some rubbish mid-age buildings that rivals Southampton University).
Sunday was the first time for me to venture into Sydney alone to watch Australia v India at the SCG. The stadium itself is stunning, but quite the bugger to get to. After deciding a train to central and bus to the stadium was too complicated and expensive, I decided to get a train to the closest station, Bondi. Now, on the map it looked a 15 minute walk at most. It turned out the station was 40 minutes from the ground.
I was in row H, bay 26, which was about 5 rows back from the edge of the ground at Long Off/Deep Fine Leg, depending on the direction of the bowling, not that that will mean much to most of you (Basically, it's just off centre). I was also sat next to someone who can only be described as the Indian Professor Klump.
That atmosphere was insane. The Indian's sure love their cricket. The Indian Barmy Army spent the entire game travelling from block to block dancing and playing drums. You'd be forgiven for thinking there wasn't actually a game going on. There was also lots of fancy dress around, including Mr and Mrs Jack Sparrow, The Smurfs and, in my eyes the most outrageous, two indians dressed as Obama and Osama. They were stopped so much for photo's I don't think they saw much Cricket (although did attract a few chants, including 'Go Die in a hole you terrorist!'...I'm not sure who that was aimed at though...
They were big on their crowd participation at the SCG, with lots of songs and sounds over the tanoy to make the crowd join in a create an atmosphere (though the Barmy Army were doing this al on their own, and much better). A local favourite was the Addams Family Theme Tune. I've never head so many people clap out of time so many times before. At least half the 33,000 crowd got the clapping wrong every time the tune came on...baring in mind the songs were on a 5 over loop....
The actual cricket was pretty good, some awesome cricket played (and some not so good, including a clash between Indian players whilst both going for a catch (they did catch it) but did invite chants of 'You're going home in a back of an Ambulance!'...No? Nothing? Made me chuckle...then again I was on my own...). Australia eventually won, comfortably by about 90 ish runs.
Coming home was interesting. After leaving though a different gate to that I entered, I was kinda lost. I started walking in a direction I though would cut off a corner, but after 15 mins decided to check, cos it would be a bit silly wandering into a park I didn't actually know in the middle of the Dark, especially for someone as handsome and sexy as me. Apparently, I was heading south East, and I needed North. Glad I checked.
So I had to walk back to the stadium, loop round, then walk back to Bondi, a journey which took over an hour. Serves me right.
Now you can see why I'm so tired....

Hippy-ville....
So, it turns out Byron Bay is the hippy Capitol of Australia. From hippy-political graffiti and artwork to a guy giving out leaflets on how to be happy, this place is full of em. Not my hostel though. Luckily my hostel doesn't allow hippies, just people that don't speak English or like to communicate to other people that aren't part of their group. This was making my first day here wry hard.
Luckily whilst loitering around the reception waiting for something to happen, I stumbled across Damien, a scaffolder from Maidstone. He too wasn't overly enjoying the hospitality and facilities of the hostel, and we decided to go in search of other English people - at the pub, obviously. We ended up staying out all night, ending up on 'Cheeky Monkeys', a bar/restaurant/club aimed at backpackers. Was quite a good night really, lots of entertainment and drink...actually got so drunk we ended up getting a tattoo by a guy we met, dwayne. I got some lyrics across my waist. Not as painful as I thought tbh.The next day I had a surf lesson. This wasnt too bad, the instructors we nice enough and knew their stuff, having won some national awards, but they were quite pedantic and insisted on push us into waves, instead of trying to let us progress our teaching and catch our own. Again I was only 1 of 3 Englishmen on the course, with 15 other nationalities, everyone of whom insisted on staying directly in front of me every wave I caught, causing me to have to jump off to avoid killing them, which after the 10th time I was starting to consider.
That night, Damien and I went to the Byron Bay Brewery where there was an open mic night. I didn't get up as their were too many people, but we stayed and watched, and tbh the standard on average was exactly that a few acts did stand out though - a 13 year old called Squib -I kid you not- who did 2 of his own songs before being given the only Encore of the night with John Mayer with that song Alli can play (I forget the name). Squib was unreal, his songs were awesome and his guitar playing amazing, his voice...a bit Bieber-ish, but whn it breaks should be good. After Squib, a duo got up, one playing guitar and the other rapping - they were really good, especially the rapper!
Also, Cockatoo Paul blew me away. He played the Guitar, digeridoo, tambourine and sang all at the same time - awesome.
Today with Damien gone, I wandered Round the Coast walk, which was 2km long....after you walk 1km to get there....let's just say I've lost fitness over here....
The walk itself was beautiful (though would have been better if it wasn't overcast) and along the walk I saw Turtles and Dolphins! Not bad for free! The walk culminated in the 'Famous' Byron Bay lighthouse, which was cool.
Not sure what I'm up to tonight, might go watch some music, there's loads around. Tomorrow evening I leave for Sydney! First stop (after Nicky's house to drop off my stuff)? Zombie Marxh!!

Brisbane and the Gold Coast
Yesterday Suzanne took me to see the wonderful city that is Brisbane. We drove up to Kangeroo Point and looked over the City, with the River dividing the two. We then went for a mini drive round the city, so I could see the Bridge, the Gabba and some of the areas around the city.
We then took a City Cat ferry into town - This was a high speed ferry similar to the one along the Thames, only with better weather. It was a very pleasant trip, seeing all the greenery and suburbs before approaching the city and it's massive building and skyscrapers!
We then went for a wander around the city on foot and Suzanne showed me the City Centre, which was awesome - the Outdoor Bars, Cafes, Restaurants and shops, as well as numerous Shopping Malls. It was good going round as She was pointing out all the flood levels from last year which made it quite remarkable there was little ronni evidence
We came back from town a little later after lunch and a drink on the Beautifully Sunny South Bank. This is when I met Matthew, Suzanne's Son, for the first time since I was about 14. I also met his girlfriend and we all had a lovely beef Dinner - complete with Yorkshire Pudding and Gravy! Beats Pasta hands down...
Today (Monday) Suzanne Showed me the Gold Coast. We stopped firstly at Surfer's Paradise (which is now extremely commercial with high rises along the front) but still very nice with an awesome beach. We then Stopped at Broad Beach, catching the monorail from the Casino to the Beach Front before having Lunch and Currimba Surf Club, Which is built on the beach with views across the bay to Surfers. Absolutely Gorgeous.
To top it off Suzanne, Matthew and I went to the Famous Breakfast Creek Hotel for dinner, where you pick your own steak (much like you would your lobster) and then it's cooked for you - best steak I've had in a while let me tell you! Thoroughly recommend it!
Off tomorrow, leaving for Byron Bay, although as yet no hostel booked...I'm sure it'll be fine....

20 hours on a coach isn't fun
I left Cairns on Thursday night, something I wish I hadn't had to do - if I could have seen all of Australia from Calypso I would have, what a place! Met some awesome people there, really recommend people stay there when visiting Cairns!
I caught the bus at 12.20 am Friday morning to have as long at Calypso as I could. The bus arrived on time, with only about 9 of us heading south, so was nice room for us all.
The bus arrived in Airlie Beach around 11am and I spent the day there. Airlie was the gateway to Fraser Island, and it was a nice place, the beach was lovely, but the strip set-up kind of reminded me of Kavos, very touristy. I got back on the bus at 7 for a 20 hour journey to Brisbane...God what a long Journey.
As we left Airlie, the driver put on a DVD for our entertainment - Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. Has anyone seen this? It's based on a book series apparenty, where there are evil and good owls, and the evil owls are planning a plot to take over and a young, naive owl saves the day. It's kind of an owl based version of Lord Of at the Rings, only worse....
Luckily, I slept most the night, and bit if the day, so the journey wasn't too bad. When I wasn't sleeping, I was reading Michael McIntyre's autobiography. Wow that guy has led a life, very interesting, very funny read, very sad also in places. Definitely recommend getting that! (I finished it, in case anyone wants to borrow it)
Eventually after seeing a coach-window tour of the east coast, I arrived in Brisbane at 3pm. Suzanne was there to pick me up, and we were on our way to her house as soon as we paid the $20 parking ticket incurred for 30 mins parking (apparently, Brisbane is in the top 5 most expensive places to park in the world, alongside London and NYC!)
We went to Mount Coot-Tha (or something) where you can see right over Brisbane. Brisbane from Hight and distance is a beautiful city, lots and lots of Green and a meandering river running through. Suzanne actually lives in a suburb which I can only relate to looking like Sneyd Park.
We went to dinner last night with a couple and another of Suzanne's friends, and it was a very pleasant evening that I enjoyed, lots of typical questions aimed at an English Tourist, and a little educating on all things Oz for me.
Not really sure the plans from here, think Suzanne is gonna show me around Brisbane and the Gold Coast, which will be nice :) as always, I'll keep you updated ;)
Radio Star
I was supposed to leave Cairns Tuesday, but at the Open Mic at the hostel, I was asked by a man and woman if I would like to play on the local radio - little ol' me, singing and playing guitar on radio! All because one song I sang was called Kaleidoscope (by Joe Brooks - amazing song/artist, check him out) and his radio show was called Kaleidoscope too!
His show lasted 2 hours and he played loads of random music from arous the world, mainly folk, but he allowed mr to play 3 songs :) Kaleidoscope, A-Team and Complete (wish is a song I wrote, World Exclusive!) it went well and he seemed pleased :)
I left Cairns Thursday night at 00.25 (ok technically Friday Morning) to get to Airlie beach for 11.10. wasn't the
Most horrendous journey in the world, but outside of cities Oz is both beautiful yet repetitive!
Airlie itself is very nice, although very Tourist. Almost everything is set up around the tourism industry, but it's nice enough. Actually leaving here at 7 for a 20 Hour Journey to Brisbane :-/
Wish me
Luck!

It's safe to Blog now...
Hello lovely people
I havnt blogged for a while because I couldn't. See, I promised my parents that when I Was going to do something really fun (though they seemed more incline to call stupid and dangerous) that I wouldn't tell them, hence my absence....
Monday I went Skydiving! This was absolutely amazing, words cannot describe how much fun this was! Falling from 14,000 ft, overlooking rainforest and ocean-reef with crystal clear water that you could see to the bottom, I had 60 seconds of free fall! I did it in a place called Mission Beach, which was basically a little town by a very long, beautiful beach.
We were all given a 3 minute safety brief-half of which concerned the seatbelt on the plane! I couldn't believe how little safety talk there was!
My dive instructor was Klem, an eccentric Italian who was great fun and kept me calm, not that I was too nervous....until the door opened on the plane....
After a 20 min ascent, this was the first time I got nervous - and why not? I was 14,000ft in the air with the door wide open! Within 30 seconds all 6 of us were in the air, there's no time to be nervous or scared - and oh, what a feeling!
I've never experienced a thrill like it, and what a view I had up there! After 60 secs the chute went up, and I was allowed to steer us for a while, whilst looking down at rainforest and ocean, spotting fish and turtles! I'll put photos and the video up as soon as i can, though photos are up on FB.
Tuesday I did a Bungee! Now this was the scariest thing I've ever done - chucking myself off a platform 50m in the air attached to a big rubber band! In The video you can tell I look scared, but that's nothing compared to what I felt falling - until that cord kicks in, and you're in freefall, it's sheer panic. As soon as it does, it's lovely and I loved it. Again it's all ok FB, Video too, though I'll put photos on here.
I loved both, but would do the skydive over a bungee...but then I'd do both again :p (sorry dad).

It's been a while
Hello my lovely people!
I'm sorry if you've been logging on wondering where my posts have been....I kinda lost my phone. Well I say lost, more like accidentally jumped into the swimming pool with it in my pocket....But after a bowl of Rice and a $70 technician Im back in business!
Saturday I did some work for a local guy. He said it was to move some soil from the front to the back of his house, half a day's work, $60. I thought this was a good deal...What a mistake.
For a start, the amount of soil was at least 4 times bigger than he had said it was. Secondly, it wasn't just moving it, I was expected to do gardening too. Working in that heat and sun was unbarable, it took from 7am to 4.30 pm, and we still had about half the load to go! He gave me $100 so it wasn't too bad, but he was a bit of a knobhead.
Saturday Night I went into Cairns for a night out with Michael (you remember, my Dive Buddy) and his mate Tim from Uni. Went to Gilligans..MENTAL. Huge nightclub and bar, but with massive screens al over showing Sport - I watched Man Utd v Liverpool more than Danced! Bumped into a load of guys and girls from the Hostel there, so that was cool, had a good night, but 22 hours being awake was taking its toll!
I'm busy the next few days and Leaving Cairns Tuesday night, 11 hour bus ride to Airlie Beach! I'll probably post before then though, so keep posted!
Oh, and I did go to put the DIve photos on FB, but it would take 5 hours for them to upload, which would cost me $20 in internet time! So I'll try and choose the best ones and put them up a bit at a time! Promise!

Words aren't enough....
Hi Guys! Sure you're all glad to hear I'm back safe and sound in the hostel!
The trip...well, it truly is indescribable. So beautiful, so amazing, seeing all the different corals and fish, its unreal. I recomend and urge anyone to Dive if they come out to this part of the world, you will not regret it whatever the cost!
For 3 days/2 Nights I got the chance to do 10 dives - 4 to pass my Certification, then 6 fun dives (and believe me, they were). DIving is so cool! Just floating about, watching all aqualife carry on it's business.
One of the dives was a night dive, where we were taken out by an awesome guide/instructor called Allan (who was hilarious) and he took us to see the reef at night (with a torch, obviously), which is completley different to day...for a start, there were about 15-20 Sharks floating above our head!
I also managed a 6am Scuba dive on the 2nd day with friends Stephen and Sydney, Canadians who I met on the course. That was unreal. The coral was so beautiful and to top it off...TURTLE! We watched it feed, it came up for some air and we got to touch it!!
This also happened on my penultimate dive, where me and Dive Buddy Michael (from Winsconson, who I also met on the course) and we actually swam with it for about 15 minutes under the sea, stroke and watching it. It was truly majestical.
All in all there were 8 of us completing the PADI certification; Stephen & Sydney, Andrew (from Colorado) and Miles (from Cornwall) were the 5 who started in the pool and classroom together on the Sunday; Lina (From Germany) who started the week before but whose Dive was cancelled due to the stroms; and
Michael and Manjulah (USA), who had done the pol stuff back home and were joining us for the Open Water stuff. We grew into a pretty tight-nit group, had lots of fun and laughs together. S&S, Lina and Manjulah all left the 2nd day.
Anyway, I won't go on too much more about the dives because...well, I can't put it into words properly. I will upload just a few of the photos I took with my underwater Camera that I hired though to give you a flavour. I'll put the rest on FB at some point in the future.
What now? Well rest tonight! Diving is tiring, especially when you start at 6am! Although I'm not to sure where to go from here. Any ideas would be welcome!

One more day!
So tomorrow I hit the reef...cannot wait! Gonna be so amazing!
Passed my exam today and finished al pool exercises, now all that remains is 4 dives in open water practicing...scary!
Last night there was a reptile show...I say show, it was supposed to be, but everyone was so fascinated by the snakes and lizards - me included - that they were just passed round! Didn't actually get to a show, just 2 hours of passing snakes round! They were awesome!
Pool competition tonight, though I'm so rusty, played one warm up game and missed some absolute sitters, so not holding my breath!
I know it's been really cold and snowy back home, but if it helps, it's been really hot and sunny here...MWAHAHAHAHA!

Nearly Aquaman...
G'day Shanes and Sheila's! (getting used to the lingo here ;) )
Today was my first days training at Scuba. After waiting half an hour for a pick up (they thought I started Monday instead) it was straight into the class room to listen tithe basics.
Well, there should be a discount for people that actually make it through that DVD, it's so patronising and cheesy which means only one thing, right? ....that's right, it's american.
It's all common sense stuff really, some things are useful but they could streamline it- only complete Noobs wouldn't pass theses tests - what with the instructor telling us the answers too!
Now my instructed, Paul, is a peculiar chap. At first glance, i mistook him for my cousin Terry who is out in Australia (somewhere), and this resemblance was almost confirmed with the existence of the infamous 'Howie Eyebrow'. Only a DNA test is more conclusive, and this is only done in extreme circumstances.
I only figured Paul wasn't Terry cos of his accent. Paul is Belgian and living in Cairns for 4 years, leading to possibly the most ridiculous accent I've ever heard! Odd cliche quotes are very Aussie ( sure maayte, alroit etc) but then others very much Belgian ( deez Tings, I love Gooooold, where are dee schmall Children, etc). Oddly, there was a bit of Russian in there too( not gonna do a Russian accent, that vud e childish ;))
Anyway after te class room stuff was done, into the pool. I have to say, after done a few times, it really is simple. And so amazing. Seriously, I can see why people get addicted, and I havnt even made it to the reef yet! Being able to breath under water is insane and so against Nature that you feel you're somehow cheating God.
Just one more day of class and Pool then it's off to Norman Reef, part of the Great Barrier. I cannot wait, gonna be mind blowing!
Anyways, tonights festivities at Calypso include a BBQ and a reptile show - not sure how linked the two are, if at all.
And before any one tells me, I know the football results, I don't need to be reminded. All I know is, you can't win them all, it/they wasnt/weren't sending off/s and the referee is a dick...

Another boring day in Paradise...
Hi guys
If you're looking for an exciting post, well, you're not gonna get it. Havnt done much today.
After a round of very early Viber calls to loved ones, I enjoyed the free bus ride into town. I strolled round the city for an hour, looked nice as far as I could see. They had a 'lagoon" by the sea, which was kinda like a man-made open swimming pool, which was massive. Reminded me a bit of Weston, but the water here was water-coloured....
Anyways after that I bought some food for the next few days dinner...it's expensive here! And for a tight-arse like me it's hard to prise away from my money for expensive silly things like food and water....
However, it's really easy for me to spend money on expensive amazing things like Scuba Diving!
I'm starting a 5 day PADI open water course, which involves 2 classroom days and 3 days on a boat, diving around the Great Barrier Reef (reminds me a bit like the NPLQ, only imagine the pool is the Pacific Ocean, and the bits of sand/plaster/Faeces found at the bottom of Bslc pool is the Barrier Reef...
Otherwise not much to report! Slept most the afternoon after reading Michael McIntyre book - it's pretty good I must say, half Autobiography and half story!
Until next time guys and dolls!
Oh PS, feel free to leave comments on any of my posts, so I know some people are actually reading this, and you're not all Just telling me you are - I'm a big boy can take no one reading my blog!

30 hours in Transit for Rain...
I made it! 30 hours worth of continuous transit and less than 7 hours sleep in over 50 hours but I made it!
Horrible journey if you can't sleep in a seat!
However, landing in Cairns delayed due to adverse weather! It's raining English style here, so glad God is trying break me in gently :)
Hostel looks good, staying at Calypso! Only been here an hour so nothing exciting to report I'm afraid!
Just thought I'd let you all know I'm alive :)

Solo Long-Haul Flights suck...
I'm currently sat in Hong Kong airport, 3 hours into a 6 hour wait for a transfer...and I'm bored.
All there is to do here is Shop! Well and eat, but already eaten in the plane. Although the free wi-fi is a bit of a god send - Viber allowing me to text family and Lucy for Free :)
The flight was looooooong! 11 hours, maybe 3 hours sleep if I'm exaggerating, and that was in 3 stints. Watched In Time, Happy Feet 2 (half) and 3 episodes of family guy....tbh on board entertainment wasnt too bad! Good options and lots of them! Though sleeping sat bolt up right is an ability I hvnt been blessed with...So boring being only person awake on a plane!
Any ways, all for a good cause right! Sat with a beer, iPod on, waiting for a plane to Cairns...could be in worse situations... ;)
